Δημοσιεύουμε το διεπιστημονικό συμπόσιο με αφορμή το βιβλίο του Eric Schliesser, Adam Smith, Systematic Philosopher and Public Thinker (OUP, 2017) που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Ολλανδικό ινστιτούτο την 16η Απριλίου 2018.
Δόθηκε έμφαση σε διαφορετικές πτυχές του βιβλίου, επιστημολογία, ιστορία της επιστήμης, οικονομία, δίκαιο, πολιτική θεωρία, ζητήματα μεθοδολογίας στις επιστήμες του ανθρώπου και τις κοινωνικές επιστήμες, πάντα με άξονα αναφοράς το έργο του Adam Smith.
Κατ’αυτόν τον τρόπο αναπτύχθηκαν με κριτικό τρόπο οι εικονοκλαστικές διαστάσεις ενός πρωτότυπου έργου μέσα από εξίσου πρωτότυπες ρητορικά και εννοιακά απόπειρες αποτίμησής του.

The symposium on the occasion of the book by Eric Schliesser, Adam Smith, Systematic Philosopher and Public Thinker (OUP, 2017) held at the Netherlands Institute at Athens on April 16, 2018 aimed at highlighting pluralism and interdisciplinary approach.
Emphasis has been placed on different aspects of the book, epistemology, the history of science, economics, law, political theory, methodological issues in the humanities and social sciences, always with reference to Adam Smith’s work.
In this way, the iconoclastic dimensions of an original work were critically developed through equally original rhetorical and conceptual attempts to evaluate it.
